MAYFL allows Cheerleaders to cheer one Age Group Up

Cheer ages correspond with the MAYFL Football Rules and Regulations.
Ages for Cheerleaders is determined as of July 31st of the current year.

2010 Exception to MAYFL Cheer Articles and Rules 7.3.f
Sunday, April 11, 2010 Cheer Commissioners voted to allow 11 year olds
to Cheer in the 14 & Under age division.

6 & UNDER Non Competitive
The Non Competitive division was created to allow 3 and 4 year old Cheerleaders
the opportunity to cheer at regular season games. 3 and 4 year olds are not required 
to compete with the squad during the annual Cheer competition but must participate
in a Non Competitive performance.

6 & UNDER
4, 5, 6 Year

8 & UNDER
6, 7, 8 Year

10 & UNDER
8, 9, 10 Year

12 & UNDER
10, 11, 12

14 & UNDER
12, 13, 14

MASCOTS
Mascots are defined as one younger by four to five years in age who participates in
leading the cheering of spectators in a sports contest. Mascots are held to the same
level and must compete with the squad to which she is assigned. Only two Mascots
are allowed per squad. Due to the addition of the Non Competitive division, there are
no Mascots assigned to the 6 & Under division.
