ELIGIBILITY

All high school seniors who participated in MAYFL and who have a desire and plan to continue their education beyond high school and who is committed to making a positive difference in our communities are eligible to apply.  The student must be planning to enter an accredited post-secondary institution or trade school.  The applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50 and participate in community service activities for a minimum of 75 hours in the last year. Students must be a resident of Georgia, but may be attending a college outside of the state of Georgia. Students who were awarded the MAYFL Scholarship in previous years are not eligible to win in 2012.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Eligible students must complete the scholarship application and submit the requested documentation certifying community service, school involvement, and an essay describing the applicant's involvement in volunteerism, his/her accomplishments, and the importance of volunteerism.  The applicant must also submit a certified copy of the most current cumulative grade transcript.  Applications should be sent First Class or Priority Mail.  Delivery confirmation is suggested, but not required. While applications are available on the MAYFL web site at (http://www.mayflatl.org/index.php?mode=forms), the hard-copy application must be submitted with original signatures of the student applicant.  Electronic submissions will not be accepted. Applications should be printed on one side of paper only.  Applications are evaluated on the information supplied. Therefore, applications not including all requested information by the due date are ineligible for consideration. All information received is considered confidential.
